Welcome to The Quarterly Harvest

We're excited to welcome you to the first edition of The Quarterly Harvest, a new way for us to stay connected with you throughout the year.

While tax season may seem a long way off, we've been hard at work preparing for the months ahead — reviewing our processes, refining our systems, and finding ways to make your experience with us better. Our goal isn't simply to make tax preparation easier; it's to spend less time on paperwork so we have more time for the tax and financial questions that really matter to you.

Each quarter, we'll share timely tax updates, important reminders, and a little of what's happening here at Share the Harvest Partners.

Time-Sensitive Reminders — September 15 Is Almost Here

Two important deadlines fall on Monday, September 15:

  • Extension clients: If you filed an extension, we need your tax documents now. The final filing deadline is October 15, and we need adequate time to prepare and review your return properly. Returns received too close to the deadline risk being filed late — which means penalties and interest. Please send your information in as soon as you can.

  • Third quarter estimated payments: If you pay quarterly estimated taxes, your Q3 payment is due September 15. If you're unsure of your amount or would like us to run an updated projection, just reach out.

Tax Law Update for 2026 (reach out to us with questions or see www.irs.gov):

  • Trump Accounts for Children - If you have children or grandchildren, this new opportunity may be worth a look. Trump Accounts are new federally backed, tax-deferred savings accounts for kids.

  • Charitable giving deduction for non-itemizers – Maximum of $1000/taxpayer, even if you can’t itemize.

  • Increase for the standard deduction – It’s important that you provide all of your charitable giving

  • Retirement contribution limit increased – Also an increase for catch-up contributions for those 50 years old and older.

  • Mileage rates for 2026 - $0.725 for Jan-Jun and $0.76/mile for Jul-Dec. Your employer should reimburse you for qualified business travel using the posted IRS rates.

New Business: Payroll Service Returns & Welcoming New Clients

After a few years away, our payroll service is coming back! We heard you — and we're rebuilding it. If handling payroll has been a headache for your church or business, give us a call or send us a message to get on the list.

Help Us Grow the Harvest

Many people don't start thinking about a tax professional until tax season is already underway. If you have friends, family, or colleagues who could benefit from the kind of personal service you've experienced with us, now is the perfect time to share our name.

We are beginning to offer church/clergy tax and financial seminars.

Our practice has grown largely because clients trusted us enough to recommend us. That's one of the greatest compliments you can give us — thank you!
